I see Eugene Chen fairly often and get a good deal of news from him as he is Director of Aviation among other things. I he looks rather out of have also seen C.C.Wu once or twice place and uncomfortable I think in the 'galère' of Sun Yat Sen. My Managing Director is of course in Hongkong and asks me to act

for him.

Tung Shan was very noisy and foul with retreating troops, but we have cleaned it up now. The station here is pretty bad and they leave dead bodies lying on the platform for days. There seems to be a lot of sickness among the soldiers and the wretched coolies who are impressed for carrying and there have been an unusual number of dead left about.
